"Richard is the reigning champion of the 2007 Central Coast Equine Experience $10,000. Colt Starting Challenge! He was also the recipient of the 2007 Monty Roberts Equitarian Award. Richard is proud of his NRCHA Non-Pro client who earned 2007 National Champion and Reserve World Championship titles! Richard's most recent accomplishment was the 2008 Reserve Champion title at the Circle Y Derby in Stephensville, TX."
During the last twenty years, Richard Winters has started literally hundreds of horses that have gone into virtually every discipline imaginable. He has also worked with volumes of problem horses, helping them to become better partners with their owners. Much of Richard's work has been done through the numerous clinics he conducts around the country.
Richard is also an active and successful competitor in the National Reined Cow Horse Association. Along with his daughter Sarah, they both finished as top 10 competitors in the Southwest Region in 2005. Richard was also winner of the Limited Hackamore Championship at the prestigious World Championship Snaffle Bit Futurity in 2005. |

Richard and his wife Cheryl, along with their children Joseph and Sarah live, work and play at the historic and prestigious Thacher School in Ojai, California.
